Six Members Constitutional Bench to Hear Cases on Nov 14-15

ISLAMABAD, November 13, 2024: The Supreme Court of Pakistan Wednesday released its cause list for the constitutional bench, which is set to hear a series of important cases on Wednesday [November 14 and 15].

A total of 34 cases will be heard across the two days, with 18 scheduled for November 14 and 16 for November 15.

Among the key cases listed for hearing including the petition to remove former President Arif Alvi and a petition has been filed requesting the elections, initially set for February 2024, to be moved to the first week of March 2024.

Disqualification of Assembly Members with Overseas Assets – Another significant petition seeks to disqualify members of the assembly who have businesses and assets abroad, raising concerns about potential conflicts of interest and foreign influence.

Ban on Government Officials Marrying Foreigners – A petition has been filed requesting a ban on government officials marrying foreign nationals, citing security and governance concerns.

The six-member constitutional bench, headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan, will oversee the proceedings starting tomorrow, November 14.
