Soldiers Martyred in South Waziristan Operation Laid to Rest: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Four Pakistani soldiers, martyred in a gunbattle with terrorists on Thursday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, were laid to rest with full military honours on Saturday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Naib Subedar Taib Shah, aged 38, was buried in his hometown in Tank district. Lance Naik Gulab Zaman Shaheed, from Karak district; Lance Naik Habibullah Shaheed, from Orakzai district; and Lance Naik Muzammil Mehmood Shaheed, also from Karak district, were laid to rest in their respective hometowns with full military honours.

The funeral prayers and burials were attended by a large number of military and civilian officials, Pakistan Army personnel, relatives of the martyrs, and local community members.

In a statement, the ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain unwavering in their commitment to eliminating the threat of terrorism. The sacrifices of these brave soldiers, the statement added, serve to strengthen their resolve.

On Thursday, the ISPR had reported that four soldiers embraced martyrdom and five terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire between security forces and Khwarij terrorists in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
