THATHA: The Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party (STP) has announced to hold a grand public rally on June 20 to protest against the arrests of party workers in fake cases made on behest of Bahria Town.
STP leaders, Jalal Shah, Ayaz Lashari and Omar Nahio, told the newsman here on Friday that their party workers have been arrested in hundreds in fake cases and their families were being harassed by the police. They said the party workers were arrested for protesting against Bahria Town’s unlawful occupation of Sindh. They declared that these arrests cannot deter our party workers from protecting Sindh from illegal occupation of Bahria Town.
A mob had staged a sit-in at one of the gates of Bahria Town Karachi early this month to protest what they called ‘illegal occupation of Sindh’ by Malik Riaz. Later, some miscreants entered into the Bahria Town’s nearby markets and ransacked them partially.
On the complaint of Bahria Town Karachi, the police have registered cases against unknown persons. This is a vague term.
Term. The police can arrest any person or group of persons under this term and hold them as a party to those involved in any unlawful activity.
The police has used the same old term to implicate hundreds of people in Sindh who, in its opinion, were involved in damaging properties in Bahria Town during the previous protest.
STP has accused that the police was raiding the houses of their workers in different parts of Sindh and harassing their families for protesting against Bahria Town. Now the party will protest against the police highhandedness and stage rally to protest the arrests of its workers in what its leaders say ‘fake cases’ on June 20, 2021.
