ISLAMABAD: Taliban has formally announced that it has defeated northern resisting alliance and taken over complete control of Panjshir vally.
Taliban spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid, announced fall of Panjshir vally to Taliban fighters on Monday.
Zabiullah Mujahid told Afghan media that Taliban had defeated to the forces loyal to northern alliance and taken over control of the entire Panjshir valley.
According to Taliban spokesman, many commanders of northern alliance forces have either been killed in the fight with Taliban forces or they fled from Afghanistan to save their skin. He said with taking over of Panjshir valley the war in Afghanistan is over and now Taliban and other Afghan like- minded leadership will focus on next target of establishing peace in the country. Zabiullah Mujahid said Taliban leadership wanted to sort out differences with Mahsuds of Panjshir valley through talks, but northern alliance leadership did not respond positively to this call of peaceful solution of dispute through talks and finally it resulted in fight between Taliban forces and forces loyal to northern alliance.
Zabiullah Mujahid said Taliban were very sensitive towards any challenge from any dissenting group and were fully capable of crushing any such move in the beginning .
He reiterated Taliban have announced general amensty for all and Afghan people across Afghanistan need not to worry about their past acts.
Although nothern alliance refuted Taliban claim of taking over control of Panjshir velly, but independent media did not second claim of northen alliance.
