Thatha: complaints of poor cell phone service on rise in coastal belt

THATHA: Cell phone service in coastal belt ranging from Thatha Sakro to Kitti Bunder has gone extremely poor.

Poor signals of Zong and other cell companies are making difficult for local population to connect with the people living in other parts of the globe.

The students, journalists, security related personnel can not use whats app, google and other services needed to stay on line and have their work done like the mobile phone users in other parts of Pakistan where signals of cellular companies are better.

A survey of coastal belt conducted by Amin Farooqi, correspondent NEWSMAN, endorsed public complaints of poor mobile companies service.

Majority of the consumers complained about poor service of Zong . Others comapnies consumers do have complaints of weak signals in the area, making hard for them to connect to other parts of the country and beyond.

NEWSMAN also found in its survey that the complaints centres of the mobile companies were not addressing to the complaints rather their staffs misbehave with complainants .

Shahid Sakro, a local resident of Sakro area, told NEWSMAN that he is a Zong network user and had serious complaints of weak signals of the network for hours daily and he approached to the local complaints centre where its staff showed extremely bad behaviour. Shahid demanded the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority ( PTA) to take notice of poor mobile phones service in coastal area of Sindh immediately and take remedial measures to address complaints of the people.

Aroba Hasan, a local college student, does have the same complaint. Aroba told NEWSMAN that she is facing serious problem in carrying out on line study due to hours long weak signals of cell phone network.

“You see they ( Cellular companies) are advertising 4G network, but what’s its use if you have weak signals as a routine matter”, Aroba questioned.

Thatha, Sakro, Gharo and other parts of coastal area upto Kitti Bunder are a sensitive areas and its security and prompt monitoring is of exra ordinary significance. Weak cell phones companies network and weak signals are very alarming. PTA should take strict notice of the situation arising out of poor service of cell phone companies in the entire area and ensure that the issues is resolved on priority bases.
