ISLAMABAD: Army chief, Qamar Javed Bajwa, on Monday visited Inter Services Intellegence (ISI) headquarters here.
ISI chief, Lieutenant General , Faiz Hameed, welcomed the army chief on arrival at ISI headquarters.
An official announcement made by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) here said ISI chief briefed the army chief on Afghan situation. It added ISI chief also briefed the army chief on national security situation of the country.
Pakistan is striving to persuade Afghan leadership to have an inclusive government in that war-torn country. Pakistan strongly believes an inclusive government can help Afghan government get much- needed recognition from the world capitals.
The army chief appreciated the prepardness of ISI to protect the interests of
Pakistan.
Prime minister , Imran Khan, and army chief, Qamar Javed Bajwa, participated in a National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) briefing on COVID-19. The director general NCOC briefed the political and military leadership on the latest situation of the pandemic and steps taken by NCOC in the country. Prime minister, Imran Khan , lauded the role of the NCOC in taking timely measures to control the pandemic in Pakistan. The prime minister also awarded a shield to NCOC director general, for his extra capabalities and leadership qualities to run anti COVID campaign in Pakistan.
These briefings and meetings between the political leaderahip and military brass are extremely important in the wake- up of appointment of the new ISI chief.
There is confusion for the last two weeks over the appointment of the new ISI chief.
The people are in a shock over the stalemate on this very important national issue.
Meanwhile, Information minister, Fawad Hussain Chaudhary, gave a positive gesture by saying that ‘Issue’ is over and the opposition will get nothing out of its ill-timed mass anti -government movement. He invited to the opposition to present some formula to counter price-hike.
