Federal government directs provinces for enhance security of Maulana Fazalur Rehman , Aimal Wali

Islamabad : Dec ,29 : The Interior ministry has issued a threat alert for Jamiat- i – Ulema Islam Fazal (JUIF) chief , Maulana Fazalur Rehman and Awami National Party (ANP) president for Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK), Aimal Wali Khan , and directed to the concerned authorities of the provinces to make foolproof security arrangements for safety of life of these two key political leaders .

In an SoS dated Dec 29 and issued by the federal Interior ministry to the chief secretaries of all provinces, chief commissioner Islamabad and chief secretaries Gilgit Baltistan said that it has received information from reliable sources of possible threat to the lives of JUI F , Maulana Fazalur Rehman and ANP’s Aimal Wali Khan and therefore special arrangements be put in place to avert possible untoward incident and protect the lives of these two important political leaders of Pakistan.

ANP and JUI-F resist and denounce terrorists activities in Pakistan and hence they are prime target of banned terrorist organisations. In 2018 general elections campaign , banned Tehreek i Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had attacked ANP leaders and killed its many top leaders . The terrorists are targeting JUI-F this time . They have targeted JUI-F political gatherings in the recent past and killed its many workers. In the given situation , JUI-F chief , Maulana Fazalur Rehman is expressing serious concern over current security situation and cautioning ECP of what it calls ill-timed elections schedule .

Although Maulana Fazalur Rehman and Aimal Wali Khan come from different political school of thoughts , but they have one thing common. Both leaders criticise PTI for releasing TTP’s hardcore terrorists during its tenure.
