Karachi . A bomb blast has been reported close to Sindh Rangers Headquarters on Saturday evening.
According to the Inspector General (IG) Sindh Police , Javed Alam Odho , the blast occured close to Sindh Rangers Headquarters building in the evening when terrorists rammed a vehicle into the entry gate of the Rangers Headquarters situated in Gulstan e Jauhar , a posh residential area in Karachi.
Initial reports said three Rangers personnel were martyred in the blast that following firings at the scene of the crime.
IG Sindh also confirmed that three terrorists have been killed in the exchange of firing and mopping up operation was in progress.
Special units, including the Rapid Response Force and police commandos, were dispatched to the scene to take control of the situation, the broadcaster said.
The general area was also cordoned off by police and paramilitary personnel
BBC Urdu reported that Al Ahrar terrorist group has accepted responsibility of terrorists attack at the Rangers Headquarters in Sindh.
Al Ahrar terrorist group has long history of claiming responsibility of deadly attacks on Pakistan ‘s security forces . The intelligence reports, however , shed doubt that Al Ahrar terror Group was practically involved in carry out such terror attacks inside Pakistan. These reports claim that the TTP was basically carrier of such terrorist attacks on Pakistan’s security personnel and it uses Al Ahrar ‘s name to camouflage its identity.Special units, including the Rapid Response Force and police commandos, were dispatched to the scene to take control of the situation, the broadcaster said.
