KARACHI ; As there is no end to the race among the cars assemblers and all concerned government departments are committing criminal act by not checking plundering by auto sector through repeated surge in the rates of their products, Toyota Indus on Tuesday made massive increase in the prices of its all variants . The notification of new prices circulated to Toyota Indus dealers suggested the increase in its cars ranging between Rs 287,000 to Rs 1.12 million per unit for different variants . The new prices of Toyota cars, according to Toyota Indus Motor notification, will come into effect immediately I e from March 22, 2022.
The Toyota Indus notification suggested that for five Yaris variants the increase in the prices ranged between Rs 287,000 to Rs 324000 per unit. Yaris variants of the Toyota Indus has less attraction due to low quality material and perhaps worse performance so its prices has been increased less than other variants . For next variants with 1.6 MT power to 1.8 CVT power , the prices have been increased from Rs 379000 to Rs 490000 per unit. The rates of IMV ( 3 variants ) have been increased from Rs 560000 to Rs 640000 per unit. The prices of Revo variants have been increased from Rs 664000 to Rs 8, 47000. The prices of Fortuner ( 4 variants ) have been increased from Rs 930000 to Rs 1.257 million per unit.
This is fourth increase in Toyota Indus car prices in a row during the last a few months. The prices of Toyota Indus cars have gone up between 35 % to 80 % in the first 9 months of the current fiscal year. NEWSMAN conducted market survey to assess the increase in Toyota Indus cars since July 1, 2021. The Indus Motor Company is making increase in the prices of its cars as and when wanted. Take a case of CROSS an imported Toyota SUV luxury brand being imported and marketed by Toyota dealers in Pakistan . In just last three to four months its price have been increased from Rs 8.2 million to Rs 122 million. The same is the case with other companies like Honda, MG, KIA variants . Suzuki is not behind other competitors in price increase race. Unfortunately , none of the government departments including Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) are taking notice of plundering of car manufacturers .
This correspondent made repeated efforts to get point of view of Toyota Indus Company buts its concerned including Kiran Khawaja and Osama Siddiqui did not show any positive response to queries raised by NEWSMAN to know the factors if any behind the recent massive increase in Toyota car prices .
