Two ANF employees, one civilian killed by suspected drug smugglers

Rawalpindi; June 12, 2024 : Two employees of Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) were killed in encounter with drug smugglers in Jehlum on Wednesday.
According to ANF spokesperson, ANF team attempted to stop a suspicious car near Turkai Toll Plaza on Grand Trunk Road (GT Road)in Jehlum district . The occupants of the suspended car, instead of stopping for snap checking, fled in the car. On suspicions, ANF team chased the suspected car and fearing being caught, the riders of the suspected car opened fire on ANF team. As a result of the firing of the suspected drug smugglers, one member of ANF team died on the spot where as another one was injured seriously who later succumbed to his injuries at District Hospital hehlum.

The ANF employees who laid down their lives on duty included Head Constable Gulzar and constable Mazhar . Heavy contingent of the police and ANF is searching the area to arrest the suspected killers of ANF team members.
ANF spokesperson said in a statement that a car driver named Shehzad has been arrested. In his initial statement, Shehzad claimed that a person named Bilal from Kharian had booked his car
