Use of Long awaited Ishaq Dar’s visit to Kabul set for tomorrow

Islamabad : Although there is no mention of the use of leftover US arms by terrorists against Pakistan and use of Afghan soil by Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for terrorism in Pakistan but there is great likelyhood that these two issues will top deputy prime minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar’s , agenda when he landed in Kabul on Saturday.

Islamabad has documentary proof that TTP is using leftover US arms for attacks on Pakistan and it has time and again demanded of Kabul to make sure that terrorists do not get leftover arms to use for terror activities in Pakistan.

Pakistan is also equivocally asking Kabul government not to Allow TTP to use Afghan soil for terrorism in Pakistan.

Ishaq Dar’s visit is very crucial for both Islamabad and Kabul . Both countries are presently looking for some channels to defuse tension and bring normalcy in relations.

Afghanistan can raise the issue of deportation of Afghan nationals from Pakistan. Pakistan is deporting Afghans for multiple security reasons . Kabul may seek some concessions in deadline set by Pakistan for deportation of Afghan refugees .

Pakistan is deporting Afghan refugees to their own country for multiple security reasons . Foreign Office issued a curtain raiser on Mr Dar’s visit to Afghanistan on Friday. It said on the invitation of interim Afghan Foreign Minister, Deputy Prime Minister/ Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, will lead a high-level delegation to Kabul tomorrow. During the day-long visit, he will call on the Afghan Acting Prime Minister, Mullah Muhammad Hassan Akhund; meet Afghan Acting Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar; and hold delegation-level talks with Acting Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi.

The talks will cover entire gamut of Pak-Afghan relationship, focusing on ways and means to deepen cooperation in all areas of mutual interests, including security, trade, connectivity, and people-to-people ties.

The Deputy Prime Minister’s visit is a reflection of Pakistan’s commitment to enhance sustained engagement with the brotherly country of Afghanistan
