Cricket legend extends social work to Thatha to help deserving

THATHA : Shahid Afridi, legendary crickter and social activist, on Wednesday visited Thatha city along with Alamgir Khan, former squash world champian, to call on district commissioner, Usman Tanvir, in his office here.

Shahid Afridi’s visit to Thatha is related to charity work of Shahid Afridi Foundation, a social network.

Shahid Afridi has established Shahid Afridi Foundation to help the pro poor across Pakistan.

After the meeting with deputy commissioner Thatha , Shahid Afridi spoke to local media.

The legend told the local mediamen that he has held a meeting with deputy commissioner Thatha to extend social work of his foundation ” Shahid Afridi Foundation” for the underprivileged section of the society. Shahid Afridi said in the first phase Shahid Afridi Foundation is giving away food package to the needy to help them meet their need in holy month of Ramzan and in the second phase his foundation will enhance social work in whole of Thatha district to help those who need it after the Eid ul Fiter.

Cricket legend urged upon the whole of Pakistani nation to strictly follow SoPs put in place by the authorities to fight out corona. He gave a message to every Pakistani to avoid messing up and stay at home to protect yourself and others in these difficult times.
