ISLAMABAD:  Jaamat Islami (JI) Chief Senator, Sirajul Haq, addressed a rally in Islamabad for protecting rights of Karachi on Wednesday.

No one can guess why Sirajul Haq decided to hold a rally on the rights of Karachi in Islamabad. If it was to attract a big crowed then Sirajul haq made a wrong move and gave an incorrect message to those to whom he wanted to address through the Islamabad rally. The rally was not attended by more than two hundred people.

No doubt, the topic picked up by JI chief was very important that Karachi should be given its rights by having consensus in mini Pakistan and if he would have addressed the same issue in Karachi its impact would have been much bigger than having a  rally of a few hundreds people in the federal capital.

His demand of conducting consensus in Karachi is long outstanding demand of all political parties, in particular, whose base like MQM, JI and PPP is in Karachi.

Soon after the national consensus in 2017, MQM Pakistan had immediately rejected it and demand actual consensus of the city to give its due rights.

JI chief spoke on other key issues confronting currently to Karachi like deteriorating law and order situation, power outages and rising unemployment and asked Imran Khan government to address these issues seriously,

He said Karachi has been made a sandwich between the federal and provincial government and its people were on the losing end.

Sirajul Haq said PTI government has given only unprecedented price hike to  make the lives of the people of Pakistan miserable.

The rally was also addressed by JI Karachi chief, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, Niab Ameer JI Pakistan, Mian Mukammad Aslam and JI chief Islamabad, Nasruallah Randahwa and JI Punjab chief, Tariq Saleem also addressed the rally and  condemned the PTI policy of ignoring Karachi in development projects.
