ISLAMABAD: Malala Yousafzai, a youngest Nobel Prize winner, has created an uproar in her hometown Swat, a district of Kyber Pukhtunkha (KPK) , northern province of Pakistan in particular and other parts of the country in general, by saying she was yet to understand as to why the people marry in fact. The residents of Swat where Malala got her early education before getting injured in deadly firing made by Taliban, are confused and to some extent worried after reading the legendary girl’s interview published by Vogue, British fashion magazine.
The people of Pakistan did not want to hear such controversial words from Malala Yousafzai. The controversial views of the Laureate are hard to digest for majority of Pakistanis.
Speaking to NEWSMAN, Syed Shah Hussain, a 55-years old resident of Swat, said he was at total loss to get the idea of what Malala Yousafzai said in her interview to Vogue. He, in particular, does not understand what Malala Yousafzai meant by saying what is marriage for?
“I can not believe what Malala Yousafzai divulged about marriage in her interview”, Shah Hussain divulged.
He elaborated his point and said .Malala Yousafzai is a noble prize winner, but she has no or less knowledge about Islam and its basic principles. He suggested that Malala Yousafzai should read holy Quran to understand the concept of marriage and follow Islamic teachings in letter and spirit to be a good Muslim.
Shah Hussain also questioned Malala Yousafzai’s contribution for girls of Swat and said “Do you know two other girls were shot at with Malala Yousafzai but none spoke about them.
Shah Hussain desires that Mala should do something for those girls of Swat who are struggling to get educated and make their future bright.
Waheed Khan, another resident of Swat, also spoke on Malala’s interview to Vogue magazine. He believes Malala’s interview to Vogue magazine was pre planned and it was meant to boost up her for some special purpose.
Majority in Pakistan takes Malala’s mishap of firing by Taliban while coming home from school as an incident and strongly believe that she was being promoted by Western media for a purpose.
Both Shah Hussain and Waheed Khan have identical views on this issue. They are convinced that some international power was promoting Malala to use her for some special mission once she gets popular.
Other Pakistani do have similar views on Malala’s views on marriage.
Fauzia Kazmi, an Islamabad-based journalist, admires Malala for her social work particularly for creating awareness among girls about their rights but she do question as to why a Laureate gave controversial views on marriage which is one of the basic themes of Islam. Fauzia deplored that Malala was so ignorant of her religion.
Malala has spoken her mind out in her interview to Vogue magazine on many issues like marriage, her struggle for girls who she said can change the world as she did after going through a terrible experience firing at by Taliban.
Malala was fired at and injured seriously when Taliban opened fire at a van carrying her and two other her classmates. The Pakistanis had condemned Taliban attack on Malala and other school girls.
Since the incident, Pakistani nation takes Malala as a legend but her controversial views had made it hard for them to digest.
