Army rule out any possibility of martial law in Pakistan

Army spokesman says dream to divide army will always remain dream

RAWALPINDI: May 12,2023: In a very important statement, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) director general, general Ahmad Sharif Chaudhary, has ruled out any possibility of clamping down the martial law in the country .

In its statement issued here on Friday ISPR chief said ” Army chief , general Syed Asim Munir , and his all colleague generals firmly believe in democracy and there was absolutely no possibility of any martial law in the country”.

ISPR’s chief statement further confirmed that none of army generals resigned from the army. This clarification is in the context of some social media reports which claimed that Corps Commander Lahore whose official residence was attacked by a mob during protest against the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) chairman , Imran Khan, in Al-Qadir Trust graft case , has resigned.

Since it’s a very sensitive matter and social media activists and their promoters including some pro PTI retired civil and military officials had been sharing fake news regarding resignation of Corps Commander Lahore with a purpose to de-moral the nation and there was great need that ISPR should contradict these propaganda reports.

The spokesman of the armed forces also clarified that the entire army was united and will remain united in the future and external and internal propaganda campaign launched to give an impression of divide in the army ranks will remain a desire of those who want to destabilise Pakistan through such propaganda tools.

ISPR statement said ‘ Desire of anti Pakistan elements to create division in the army ranks will always remain a desire”.

ISPR chief said the army will foil any attempt aimed at destabilising Pakistan with the support of Pakistani nation.
