Cloud burst submerges many parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi

ISLAMABAD: A heavy downpour hits twin cities of Islamabad and Rawal Pindi early morning on Monday.
The rainy spell was like a cloudburst that took the citizens of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad with a surprise. Although the rainy spell was expected between July 23 to 25 as Met Department had predicted for it , but the spell was even more gushy than predicted . The rainy spell started at around 11 AM and it was continuing for hours. It slowed down sometimes but again picked up intensity that brought entire Rawalpindi city under water that resulted in chocking of vehicles in at many places where roads were under rainy water.
The slump areas of the twin cities had literally turned into a pond leaving the dwellers in trouble and worried for the safety of their livelihood and family members .
Pakistan is under heavy rains these days. The current spells of heavy rains have inundated many areas of Pakistan including northern areas, most parts of Balochistan and a large part of Sindh.
Pakistan has witnessed such a heavy rains in monsoon after a long time.
Although these rains are creating problems for the people of Pakistan, but heavy rains or rains more than routine will prove a blessings for this country as these will help it store water for irrigation and power generation purposes for at least next one year.
