Pakistan hero , Arshad Nadeem, is being rewarded for his historic performance at Paris Olympics in javelin throw. After handing over a reward money amounting Rs 100 million by chief minister Punjab , Maryam Nawaz , prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , on Tuesday announced a reward money for Olympics hero, of Rs 150 million. Pakistan ‘s religious leader, Tariq Jamil , gave Rs 0.5 million to Arshad Nadeem . His reward recieving to continue in coming days and weeks.
It may be remembered that Arshad Nadeem won the goal medal for Pakistan after 40 years by performing brilliantly in the javelin throw competition at the Paris Olympics Games.
A reward of Rs 100 million was announced for Arshad Nadeem for this achievement. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz reached her hometown Mian chano yesterday where she was given a check of Rs 100 million and a car with a special number plate PAK-92.97as a gift.
Arshad created history in Paris last week, not only winning Pakistan’s first Olympic gold medal in 40 years but also setting a Games record with a throw of 92.97 meters. Arshad’s Olympic win was Pakistan’s first individual gold medal, first track and field medal and also the second time a South Asian has finished in track and field. The nation has been jubilant ever since – the athlete’s hometown. With the arrival of a hero’s welcome in the city of Mian Chanu and the government leaders announcing the Halal Imtiaz and cash rewards of over Rs 155 million for him. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz congratulated Arshad and his mother Razia Parveen, with whom she also spoke.
According to the press release, Chief Minister Punjab presented a check of Rs 100 million to Arshad, which he had announced earlier, along with a Honda Civic car with a special registration number PAK-92.97 to carry the player’s winnings. The Chief Minister also presented a check of Rs 50 lakh to Arshad’s coach Salman Iqbal Butt, appreciating the training provided to the javelin superstar.
Chief Minister Punjab said that Arshad Nadeem has brought unprecedented happiness to the nation. Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Provincial Sports Minister Faisal Ayub Khokhar, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Zeeshan Malik, MPA Sania Ashiq, former MPA Aamir Hayat. Haraj and former MNA Pir Aslam Bodla accompanied the Chief Minister. Chief Secretary Punjab, Area Commissioner and his deputy, Additional Inspector General of Police (South) and Secretary Sports were also present on this occasion.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif hosted a dinner for Arshad and his family at PM House tonight. Speaking during the federal cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz once again paid tribute to Arshad, highlighting that he overcame multiple challenges through his “unwavering effort”. The Prime Minister also praised the javelin thrower’s parents and coach for supporting the gold medalist. The Information Minister welcomed Arshad and his delegation in Islamabad. He said that the Olympians and the Prime Minister will also jointly participate in the flag-hoisting ceremony on the occasion of Independence Day. The Information Minister said that the athletes will also visit Peshawar and Karachi to participate in events related to August 14.
