Dr. Shaista Khan Jadun appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of National Food Security and Research

Islamabad: In an important legislative decision aimed at further strengthening the country’s agricultural sector and food security system, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has appointed Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Dr. Shaista Khan Jadun as the Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of National Food Security and Research.

The formal announcement of this important appointment was made through an official notification issued by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs on Thursday. According to the executive directive signed by Assistant Secretary Ashraf Ali Samo, the strategic appointment has taken immediate effect and will remain in force until further legislative orders.

An Important Legislative Role
As Parliamentary Secretary, Dr. Shaista Khan Jadun will serve as a key and active link between the federal administration and Parliament. Her responsibilities will include parliamentary oversight, responding to legislative questions, defending the ministry’s policies on the floor of the National Assembly, and directly assisting the federal ministry in implementing major projects related to food security, agriculture, and livestock.

This portfolio has been entrusted to Dr. Shaista Khan Jadun at a critical time when Pakistan is actively working to modernize its agricultural supply chain, manage crops in accordance with climate change challenges, and expand the national food security framework.
The Cabinet Division and the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs have already initiated measures for the immediate administrative implementation of this appointment.

Political analysts believe that assigning Dr. Shaista Khan Jadun to this specific division is a well-considered move by the government to ensure that Pakistan’s vital agricultural sector benefits from active, educated, and capable parliamentary leadership.
