ISLAMANAD: Jan 24, 2023: Prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif, on Tuesday, ordered action those officials who were responsible of Monday’s countrywide power breakdown. He gave these directions while presiding over a meeting of the Federal cabinet held here.
Prime minister, expressed serious annoyance over breakdown of power that hit the country on Monday and rejected the explanation given by the Energy minister, Khurrum Dasgir Khan, on the last day power breakdown and ordered an inquiry into the case to ascertain the cause of Monday’s power breakdown.
Later, prime minister Shahbaz Sharif, tendered an apology to the nation for Monday’s power outage that brought the country to a grinding halt, besides causing trouble for the people.

Pakistan suffered a countrywide power breakdown on Monday morning that lasted across Pakistan for.more than 18 hours.
Power breakdown began at around 7.32 AM on Monday and there was a complete blackout till evening . By evening , power supply could be restored to only 30 % areas of Pakistan and the rest 70 % is still without power at the time of filing this report at 10.35 PM.
Although Energy ministry claims to overcome power breakdown in 4 to 5 hours but it seems practically impossible as 70% areas of Pakistan is without power supply .
The power breakdown suspended electricity supply to entire Pakistan .
The power breakdown occured at around 7.32 AM .
As a result of power breakdown main Guddu -Quetta transmission line also got tripped , causing electricity suspension to Quetta , Karachi and other parts of the country.
Energy ministry confirmed countrywide breakdown that affected power supply to the entire Pakistan.
The Energy ministry in its latest update on the issue said the power breakdown was a cause of lowered frequency in the system . It said the work to address the problem and restore power supply was in progress. It also added that power supply to Islamabad and some other areas have been partially restored.
