* Peace *

Last year, I had the pleasure of meeting a young and courageous police officer named Adnan Afridi in Torkhum. Introduced to me by my friend Sadiq Akbar, Adnan was not only good-looking but also a daredevil who fearlessly confronted the area’s criminals, keeping them on their toes and forcing them to flee. Little did I know that today, I would wake up to the tragic news of Adnan sacrificing his life in Jamrud while bravely confronting a suicide bomber.

Responding to a call from the local community, Adnan rushed to check on suspicious individuals whose presence posed a threat to the peace-loving residents. Despite the risk of facing death, Adnan fearlessly upheld his reputation as a brave and devoted policeman, giving his life to protect his fellow citizens.

Recently, my scathing criticism of the KP Police deeply hurt General Akhtar Hayat Khan Gandapur, who heads the force. Today, the KP Police stand at the forefront of all anti-terrorist operations in the restive KP region, where both peace and security remain elusive for both the security forces and the residents.

As someone who witnessed the invasion of Afghanistan by Russian tanks in 1979 and now a father of grown-up children, I reflect on the grim reality that the region is still haunted by political bloodshed. The constant threat to our peace seems to have no end in sight. We mourn the loss of young and brave individuals like Adnan, who believed in sacrificing their lives to achieve peace. However, true peace can only be achieved through the serious political will of prioritizing our own security and peace over championing international causes. May Adnan rest in peace.

Last but not least , Adnan Afridi’s sacrifice serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges we face as a nation and in maintaining peace and security in our country . It is crucial that our leadership focuses on securing our own nation before seeking to influence global peace. Only then can we hope to see a future where the coffins of our brave sons are not a frequent sight. May his bravery inspire us to work towards a safer and more peaceful Pakistan . Long Live Pakistan And The Brave KP Police 🇵🇰
