ISLAMABAD, November 29, 2024: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Barrister Ali Zafar has rejected reports claiming that he met with party founder Imran Khan and nominated Asad Qaiser as the new chairman of the party.
In a post on social media platform X, Zafar dismissed the reports as “fake news.” He said that a fake new has aired in media that he has stated that Asad Qaiser and Ali Muhammad Khan have been appointed chairman and secretary general.
” His response came shortly after media reports suggested that Imran Khan had removed Barrister Gohar Ali Khan from the position of party chairman and appointed Asad Qaiser, the former National Assembly speaker, as his replacement.

The initial reports also quoted Barrister Zafar as saying that Imran Khan had made the decision to promote seasoned leaders to lead the party.
However, Zafar’s statement on X contradicted these claims, emphasizing that no such discussions had occurred.
The rumors of a leadership reshuffle emerged following PTI’s protest in Islamabad, which saw several party leaders come under criticism for their absence.

Additionally, reports indicated that PTI’s Secretary General, Salman Akram Raja, had resigned after the protest.
The leadership changes within PTI are raising questions as the party faces increasing internal challenges and public scrutiny.
