Islamabad : As debate on urgency of the new administrative units or smaller provinces heats up at various forums , Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) former federal minister , Syed Ali Haider Zaidi , has mocked the very idea , saying those genius sitting in Islamabad could not maintain a workable balance for four provinces especially for water sharing and share in the revenue , but they are pushing the idea of the new provinces believing they can lead the country for prosperity and development when there will be 32 provinces altogether.
” We can not justify with four provinces but genius sitting in Islamabad want 32 to fix the system. Let the system function fairly”, Mr Zaidi said in a statement released on X.COM,

Pakistan is witnessing sharp divide over the idea of creating more provinces . Those who believe the new provinces are urgently needed for good governance and shakeup the politics of nepotism in the country do have very strong arguments in favour of the proposal . And similarly , those who oppose it also do offer the arguments with the same strong voice.
Those who are beneficiary of the current hybrid model of the governance are opposing this idea with full force . Both major ruling parties –PMLN and PPP–are on one page to oppose the proposed formation of the new provinces in the country. Top political aides of the prime minister like Rana Sanaullah are publicly resisting the idea of forming the new provinces . Rana Sanaullah is considered very strong voice of the Sharif government. He is a vocal speaker and his opinion in the public or media is considered of the ruling PMLN.
PPP, another major beneficiary of the current hybrid system of government , is opposing creation of the new provinces even with more seriousness. It has managed to convince the people of Sindh that the idea of creating new provinces is basically floated by the Establishment to divide the Sindh. This party is ruling Sindh for 17 years without any interval . There is no one at least in Sindh to question its style of governance. Everybody knows the level of bad governance in Sindh . Yet PPP is not only enjoying its rule in Sindh , but it “won” last elections in GB. PMLN also believes that any move to create the new provinces in the Punjab will cut down their area of Kingdom.
Not only , the beneficiaries , but some parties like BPKMAP are also opposing the proposed formation of the new provinces.
PTI is totally silent on this move. It’s leaders are probably looking for some opportunity to get rid of the on-going friction with the Establishment in this idea of bringing in more provinces for good governance. Most probably , PTI will give its decision on this issue when a suitable time comes for it.
Syed Ali Zaidi , who had been very vocal voice in PTI and his voice did matter also seemed convinced that the formation of the new provinces will lead the country to further trouble. He does not see any lol thing good or concrete in having more provinces.
Instead supporting the idea of the new provinces , Syed Ali Zaidi , demands fair and free elections and an independent and trustworthy judicial system to make Pakistan a civilized , developed and prosperous country.
