THATHA. August 20,2022. Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, visited Thatta on Friday to the check damage done by recent monsoon rains to the area.
On reaching Gharu, the chief minister was welcomed by Advisor Sadiq Ali Memon, former MPA Ghulam Qadir Paliju, Usman Kandinar, Jam Ehsan Jokio and others.
Speaking to the media after inspecting Gharo city, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah said the rainwaters will be drained immediately. He noted that rain victims can get immediate relief supplies
The chief minister also chaired a meeting at the DC office Thatta. In the meeting, MPA Riaz Shah Shirazi, Advisor Rasool Bakhsh Chandio, Special Assistant Sadiq Memon, Ghulam Qadir Plaju, along with Commissioner Hyderabad, Deputy Commissioner Thatta and other participants Syed Murad Ali Shah. It was said that there has been a lot of damage to houses, crops and infrastructure in Thatta, He asked thr district administration to prepare a list of victims, we will provide full assistance to the victims.
I want the rights holders to get their rights, 11 people have died during the rains in Thatta, I have requested Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for help, the Prime Minister has assured me that he will help the Sindh government.
The federal and provincial governments will not only help the victims but also compensate them, we will re-incorporate the Keti Bandar Jetty scheme in the CPEC. This scheme will change the life of Katy Bandar and its residents, said DC Thatta while giving information to the Chief Minister in an awareness briefing.
Thatta has received 600 mm of rain so far.There has been destruction due to so much rains, 9712 acres of crops have been destroyed in Thatta Taluk.
6429 acres in Sakro taluk, 2872 acres in Ghobadari and 1350 acres in Kati Bandar have been destroyed and 980 houses in Thatta, 2500 houses in Mirpursakro, 1500 houses in Ghorbadari and 500 houses in Kati Bandar have been severely damaged.
The Thatha administration further informed the chief minister that so far
4705 tents, 15905 mosquito nets, 500 people have been given food in Thatta.
