Twin Blasts in Bajaur Claim Two Lives

BAJAUR, November 23, 2024:  Twin explosions rocked Bajaur District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.

According to local authorities, the blasts took place in the Tehsil Mamund area of the district.

Bajaur District Police Officer (DPO) Waqas Rafeeq confirmed that the first bomb exploded in the Eirab area, killing a civilian named Malik Asghar.

The second explosion occurred in the jurisdiction of Loi Police Station in Mainakhor, where a police officer, Ehsanullah, lost his life.

The police have launched an investigation into the attacks, though no group has claimed responsibility for the bombings at this time.

These attacks add to the growing concern over rising militancy in Pakistan, with security forces and civilians—particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan—being increasingly targeted.

According to a report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), terrorist violence and counterterrorism operations have resulted in a 90% increase in fatalities during the third quarter of 2024.
