ISLAMABAD: July 26, 2023: Pakistan is a heaven on the earth for those who are either dacoits or elite and bureaucrats of this country. These three segments of the society have the same facilities. For example, these segments can enjoy luxurious lives on extorted, incentivized or doled out money.
The decision-makers in Pakistan have architected a system which suits the best to elite who enjoying facilities legalized by the existing corrupt system for them in the name of concessions.
Since there is no writ of the law dacoits roam about feely without any fear in almost every bigger city of Pakistan and they can hit any time at any place and at their will to loot innocent citizens of Pakistan. These three segments of the Pakistani society are literally over and above the law of the land. Frankly speaking, the law is meant for underprovided and downtrodden segments of Pakistani society only.
Elite including the bureaucrats including parliamentarians are granted indefinite concessions and facilities. They are enjoying incentives like free facilities of power, gas, water etc and the corrupt system charges the cost of the facilities that elite enjoy from those who are at the bottom of the society and hardly afford to pay even their own utility bills. A vast majority of the pro poor pay for corrupt and those who are exempted from paying their utility bills.
NEWSMAN have got a copy of an electricity bill from its credible source of one of the millions baboos which suggests how the corrupt system provides unending facilities for living luxurious lives to WAPDA employees by enjoying free electricity at homes at a time when the entire power sector of Pakistan is about to collapse due to its inefficiency and corruption.
This free- of- cost electricity bill shows it was issued in the name of Mr Tariq Javed, a WAPDA employee resident of WAPDA Colony , Sahiwal . This gentleman (Tariq Javed) like hundreds of thousands of other WAPDA employees paid only Rs 716 for his bill of month of June 2023 after consuming 632 units. Bill history of this WAPAD employee is enough to chide millions of under privileged people of this country who ae not making even one meal for a day.
This gentleman consumed 1851 units in July 22 and paid Rs 1058 as bill only. His electricity bill’s history shows the same is his story for other months. NEWSMAN is producing the copy of the bill for consumption of its readers.
We also got a bill of a commoner who paid a bill of Rs 32471 for the same month (June 23) for consuming 823 units of electricity.
The comparison of these two electricity bills will give a real picture as to how elite, baboos and dacoits are same and how they get fittest in Pakistan’s corrupt system.
Pakistan is facing the worst financial crisis and the government is revising power rates on almost fortnightly basis to avoid collapse of power sector, but its corrupt decision- makers are not interested in cutting down concessions granted to the powerful baboos as they are not interested in weeding out the dacoits hitting the innocents in the streets of Pakistan for money.
