ISLAMABAD : August 30: Saudi crown prince ,Mohammad Bin Salman (MBS), is scheduled to visit Pakistan on September 10. The Saudi crown prince will make a short visit spanning over a few hours to Pakistan to discuss various projects with Pakistani authorities including a multi-billion dollar oil refinery project.
Saudi Arabia is interested in investing in a number of key sectors of Pakistan including oil refinery to be set up in Balochistan , agriculture and Reko Diq projects. Saudi Arabia has also shown interest in investing in Pakistan’s mining and agriculture sectors. MBS will leave from Pakistan on the same day for India.
MBS’s visit to Pakistan in the given situation when Pakistan is struggling to woo foreign investment in its various sectors is of extraordinary importance . Since the Saudi Crown Prince is also visiting India , Pakistan can request him to use his influence to convince India for the peaceful solution to the Kashmir dispute. The European Union is already exerting pressure on India to resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
