PTI will sweep next general elections: Zubair Farooq Khan Says Imran Khan to stay as Pakistan’s popular leader

ISLAMABAD : Oct 4 : Zubair Farooq Khan, a senior Pakistan Tehreek- e-Insaf (PTI) leader, has said Imran Khan is the most popular leader of Pakistan and his party is going to sweep the next general elections.

In an exclusive interview with NEWSMAN Zubair Farooq Khan said the pressure tactics and restrictions can not force Imran Khan to change his course of politics rather it’s going to multiply his popularity among the public . The PTI leader said Imran Khan is struggling to make Pakistan a real democratic country where each and every player operates with the role assigned by the constitution. Zubair Khan said Imran Khan is the only leader of Pakistan who is struggling for supremacy of the constitution in the country and any restriction or pressure tactics can not make him to change his agenda . He ruled out the possibility of Imran Khan’s compromise with the establishment for his release from the jail.

Zubair Farooq Khan said PTI had summoned an urgent meeting soon after Imran Khan;s arrest and every PTI leader seemed worried over party chief’s arrest . He said he attended that party meeting and told to its participants that the arrest of Imran Khan and other party leaders is a timely pressure tactics and it will not harm the party in the longer run. He said ‘ I attended the party meeting which was convened to take stock of the situation after Imran Khan’s arrest and on my turn I quoted Turkish president Tayyab Eurdogon ‘s example and informed the meeting that Turkish President was disqualified by the court of his country and when his party came into power again it finished his disqualification and now the same Turkish leader is again president of Turkey. Zubair Farooq Khan said Asad Umar and all others who left the party in difficult times will not be accepted back in the party ranks. Regarding party tickets for Islamabad , Zubair Farooq Khan said the party senior leaders will decide the issue of the party tickets for Islamabad and rest of the country . “I can tell you that Imran Khan will prefer youth for award of tickets for upcoming general elections. Zubair Farooq Khan is pretty confident that the general elections can not be deferred for indefinite period. Rather, he believes that general elections may be announced for December this year. To a question, Zubair Farooq Khan said he parted ways with Jamaat e Islami (JI) after reaching to a final conclusion that JI was a directionless party and leadership prefer the interests of a few in the party over the party and the state interests. I had faced jails and other hardship as a political worker, but finally reached to the conclusion that JI is a non-starter and it will remain so in the future also.

He alleged the Inspector General Police (IGP) Islamabad, Akbar Nasir Khan, is patronising the land grabbers in the federal capital and his targets are political opponents of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) and he is among victims of IGP’s misuse of the authority
