KARACHI : After a nail bitting contest , Mutehida Qaumi Movement (MQM) won the by election in NA 240, in Karachi. Its candidate , Mohammad Abu Bakar got 10683 votes and won the election. Shahzada Shahbaz of Tehreek e Lubaik Pakistan TLP got 10618 votes .
The by election in NA 240 Karachi had literally turned into a more than a nail bitting competition between Mutehida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Tehreek e Lubaik Pakistan (TLP) here on Thursday .From the very beginning of announcement of unofficial result , Mohammad Abu Bakar of MQM and Shahzad Shabaz of TLP had only difference of a few votes . At one time , TLP had lead of 4 votes and at other MQM jumped over and gained lead of a few votes over its closest competitor . Pakistan People Party (PPP) which was also considered hot to win the by election in post election surveys could not give tough time to its competitors .Pakistan Surzamin Party (PSP) also gave almost the same level of performance in the race .
