LAHORE : In a major relief to the public , the Punjab government has decided to delete 11 toll plazas set up in various districts of the province . The provincial cabinet had approved deletion of these 11 toll plazas for facitsting the commuters to have a hassle free travel besides giving them relief from toll tax .
The till plazas which have been deleted included toll plaza on Chicha Watni-Boriwala road in Vehari district , toll plaza on Bahawalpur-Hasilpur Christian road in Bahawalpur district , toll plaza on Dipalpur-Kasur road in Okara district , toll plaza on Sahiwal-Pakpattan road in Okara district , toll plaza on Sahiwal-Arifwala road in Sahiwal district , toll plaza on Lahore-Jaranwala- Faisalabad road in Nankana Sahib district , toll plaza on Lahore-Jaranwala -Fasialanad road in Shaikhupura district , Muridkay-Narowal road toll plaza in Shaikhupura district , Wazirabad -Sialkot Kashmir road toll plaza and Gujranwala -Sialkot road toll plaza in Gujranwala district .
The commuters are paying huge toll tax while travelling in Punjab . In some districts , more than one till plazas have been set up. Money raising is only purpose to set up majority of toll plazas and tax being collected from the commuters was an additional financial burden on the travellers .
The deletion of toll plazas from different districts of Punjab is a great step towards providing financial relief to the masses who are facing huge pressure due to rising travel cost.
