LAHORE . In less than 24 hours after a heartfelt speech in front of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (!PTI) chairman in a seminar on “Regime Change “, Pakistan’s senior most journalist and anchorperson , Ayaz Amir , was attacked in Lahore on Friday night .
The assailants blocked Ayaz Amir’s car by stopping their vehicle in front of it , dragged Mr Ayaz Amir out of his car, tortured him physically, pulled out his valet ,snatched mobile set and fled from the scene as soon as he came out of the office of a private TV channel on Abbotabad in Lahore .
Ayaz Amir told the police after the incident that the assailants were 4 to 6 and their ring leader had mask on his face. He further said the attackers left the scene after beating him and his driver in their car.
The attack on Ayaz Amir is most probably reaction of his speech made at PTI seminar a day before .
Ayaz Amir had vehemently criticised the PTI government policies of its around four year’s regime . He told Imran Khan that you promoted and protected property mafia rather than working for the masses .
Within 24 hours after his daring speech, Ayaz Amir has been physically attacked .
As usual when such deploring act of attack on any journalist happens , prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif, other political leaders condemned the attack on Ayaz Amir.
PTI also erupted to condemn the attack on Ayaz Amir . Imran Khan too performed great job by condemning attack on Ayaz Amir.
Like many such past incidents , the incident of attack on Ayaz Amir will become a part of history soon.
Pakistan has a long history of attacks on journalists. Many of the victims lost lives too , but
the attackers always remained a mystery .
