Amidst growing economic crisis , Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is meeting here today (Tuesday) to review those factors which resulted in embarrassing defeat to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) in Punjab’s by polls held on July 17, 2022.
The PDM will also take stock of the political situation arising out of PTI big win in Punjab’s by-elections . The alliance meeting will also consider various options like dissolution of the assemblies and holding mid term elections in the country.
The PDM meeting will be attended by top brass of PMLN, PPP and others parties which are part of the alliance . PTI win in Punjab’s by-elections has come as a big challenge for the ruling alliance and PDM . It has given an impetuous to PTI which is demanding mid-terms elections in the country without any delay.
PTI win has left PDM with a few options. It can either reject PTI demand of early elections in the country and go aggressive to counter hyped popularity of PTI or succumb to Imran Khan’s pressure and call mid term elections in the country.
Interior minister, Rana Sanaullah, had claimed a day earlier in a press conference that it was PDM leadership to decide on the issue of fresh elections in the country and not Imran Khan whom he called as a mad man who in his views is conspiring against Pakistan.
