After increasing prices of all variants by 30 % on July 29, last, Toyota Indus has reduced its variants rates by 15 % to basically dodge the government authorities from pressing Pakistan’s top auto assembler’s to pass on benefit of reduced value of US dollar to the buyers.
Toyota Indus had jacked up prices of all its variants on July 29, last up to Rs 3.360 million . Minimum raise in prices made by this assembler on July 29, 2022 was for Yaris variant and that was Rs 0.760. It made appreciation in US dollar rate a reason to increase the price of its cars.
But now when US dollar has gone down by Rs 30 in the last couple of weeks it rather than pass on proportionate benefit of reduced value of US dollar only cut down half of enhanced price on August 15, 2022.
New prices of Altis 1.6 X M/T is Rs 45,69000. It’s A/T version would cost to the buyer for Rs 47,89000. Fortuner’s 2.7 G would cost Rs 94,99000. Its Lagener variant could cost Rs 120, 99000. Revo Hilux M/T G would cost Rs 76, 59000. Yaris 1.3 M/T would cost to the buyers Rs 37, 69000.

Taking advantage of increase in US dollar rates, Toyota Indus has revised pries of its all brands between Rs 760, 000 to Rs 3160, 000 with immediate effect. The recent increase in Indus Motor’s cars is around 30 % whereas since the last budget when this company revised the prices of tis cars and other companies followed it dollar price has appreciated only by around 16 % to 17 %.
The new increase in prices of Indus Toyota cars is beyond impact of US dollar appreciation and any tax levied in budget on the cars in last budget. Such an unprecedented increase in the prices of cars suggested that the ministry of Industries and Production and other concerned departments either have no check and balance or their senior officials are preferring some vested interests over protecting the interests of the buyers.
The Toyota Indus Motor is taking undue advantage of increase in US dollar value and leading the local auto industry to repeated increase in the prices of the vehicles. Its also black mailing the government by shutting down its plant partially to give an impression that it was closing down its operation from Pakistan . Its also using some selected media outlets to propagate its tricky plan clearly aimed at blackmailing the concerned government departments. During the last three months it has revised the rates of its vehicles four times.
According to a company notification, the price of Fortuner Lagender diesel has been increased by Rs 31, 6000, taking new rates to Rs 158 39000, Fortuner 27 C its price has gone up by Rs 25,50 000, taking its price to Rs 124, 89000, the price of Fortuner 27 V went up by Rs 28, 20000. Its new price has gone up to Rs 142, 79000. Fortuner Sigma’s price has been increased by Rs 30, 30000 taking its new price to Rs 150, 69000.
The price of Revo G auto 2.8 has been increased by Rs 19, 2000 to take its new price to Rs 10299000. The price of Revo G V 2.8 has been increased by Rs 212000 and its new price is Rs 11349000. The price of Revo G 2.8 M/T has been increased by 183000 to take its new price to Rs 9819000. Hilux E will cost now to the buyer for Rs 90,39 000 as its prices has been revised by Rs 168000. The price of Revo V Rocco has been increased by Rs 22, 7000 and tis new price is Rs 11999000.
The price of Corolla X 1.6 has been revised upward by Rs 990000 and its new price is Rs 48, 99000. The rates of Corolla X 1.6 AT went up by Rs 10, 90000 and its new price is Rs 51, 39000,.
The price of Corolla X 1.6 AT SE has been increased by Rs 1130, 000 and its new price is Rs 5639000 . The rates of Corolla X 1.8 CVT has been increased by Rs 1180000 and its new price is Rs 56, 79000. The price of ATLIS 1.8 CVT (Beige colour) has been increased by Rs 12, 90000 and its new price is Rs 61, 49000. The price of ATLIS 1.8 CVT (Black interior) has been increased by Rs 129000 and its new price is Rs 61, 89000. Its height of failure of government departments that Indus is charging over 0.5 million for change in colour of interior.
The rates of Yaris M/T 1.3 has been increased by Rs 760, 000 to take its new price to Rs 37, 99000,. The price of Yaris ATIV M/T 1.3 went up by Rs 790000 and its new rates are RS 3999000. The price of YARIS GLI CVT 1.3 went up by Rs 790, 000 and its new price is Rs 40, 39000 . The rates of YARIS ATIV CVT 1.3 HAS BEEN INCERASED BY rS 830, 000 and its new price is Rs 42, 0900. The price of YARIS ATIV X M/T 1.5 has been increased by Rs 850, 000 to take its new price to Rs 430900 and the prices of YARIS ATIV X CVT 1.6 went up by Rs 910, 000 to take its new price to Rs 4569000.
