ISLAMBAD : August 22, 2022. A judge of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted a 3 –day protective bail to Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) chairman , Imran Khan, on Monday.
Keeping in view the government’s possible action to arrest Imran Khan , PTI legal team led by Faisal Chaudhary advocate had moved IHC against possible arrest of the PTI chairman.
A single bench of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of IHC converted PTI request into a protective bail and granted protective bail to Imran Khan till August 25, 2022.
ISLAMABAD : August 21, 2022. On Sunday evening , rumours of possible arrest of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan , created a storm in the media .
On Sunday night PTI had got sharply reacted to a Shahbaz government plan to arrest Imran Khan .
Update a day earlier;
After smelling arrest of Imran Khan all hawks of PTI rushed to Bani Gala to show solidarity with their leader.
The second tier leadership of PTI issued warnings to the government that it will be disastrous to arrest Imran Khan .
Shah Mahmood Qureshi , senior vice chairman of PTI, rushed from his hometown –Multan– to Islamabad after getting the information that the police have erected barricades outside Imran Khan’s residence in Bani Gala to stop the people from going to see PTI chairman at his residence . Shah Mahmood Qureshi in his statement claimed that according to his information the government was gearing up to arrest Imran Khan any time.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi also gave a call to the PTI workers to reach Bani Gala to foil any attempt of the government to arrest Imran Khan.
Other PTI leaders including Fawad Chaudhary , Murad Saeed , Amir Kayani and many others who were in Islamabad on Sunday night rushed to Bani Gala to foil any possible attempt to arrest Imran Khan .
Fawad Chaudhary, in his statement, called upon the PTI workers to reach Bani Galla to protect their leader from possible arrest .
At around 12 , Fawad Chaudhary claimed in his another statement that dozens of PTI workers have gathered at the police barricade outside Bani Gala to protest possible arrest of Imran Khan.
Murad Saeed, who had also rushed to Bani Gala to resist any government attempt to arrest Imran Khan, claimed in his tweet that the government has approved arrest of Imran Khan . He tweeted that the government has a plan to arrest Imran Khan tonight and it was duty of PTI workers to take to the streets to express solidarity with their leader. He wrote in his tweet ‘ PTI workers should come out for Pakistan and tell those who have a plan to arrest Imran Khan that their plan was bound to backfire”.
Meanwhile ,the PTI workers also gathered in many other big cities including Lahore , Karachi, Faisalabad , Peshawar to protest against possible arrest of Imran Khan.
Imran Khan’s arrest will be a real test for both –PTI and the government .
In any such case, PTI has to prove its strength and put pressure to such a great level that it ultimately proves that Imran Khan was really a public leader and his popularity makes him beyond any action what so ever.
On the other hand , the government has to use all options to make sure that the writ of the state does exist and it can make subservient to the law of the land everyone no matter how popular he is.
Imran Khan is consistently targeting the army and other organs of the state. In his address to Rawalpindi rally on Sunday he lashed out at the neutrals for not making his case actionable. His continuous rant against the army and judiciary has pushed him to a point where he may face stern actions . These include his possible arrest and trial under many cases of serious nature
