ISLAMABAD : September 5,2022: BOL TV network is no more on air in Pakistan now. On Monday, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) , a regulator of electronic media in Pakistan , announced that BOL TV has been closed down immediately as it has been given security clearance by the.concerned departments.
Pakistan’s more than one dozen departments work on security clearance of any media channel .
BOL TV network had started in 2013. It had been in trouble in the past also and its reason was the same security clearance . Its owner , Shoab Shaikh, had , however , got some relief from the court of law.
After 11 years , the same security clearance is back to haunt BOL TV network.
PEMRA authorities issued the following message here on Monday. It said
“Transmissions of BOL News and BOL Entertainment are suspended on instructions of PEMRA. Inconvenience is regretted”.
BOL TV network was among a nationwide media networks and its closure will render thousands of media workers jobless.
