KARACHI, October 9,2022: Chairman of Pakistan-Japan Business Forum (PJBF) and renowned businessman Kalim Farooqui hosted a grand reception-dinner in honor of Sakuma Yasuo, a former photojournalist of Japan’s daily newspaper, Asahi Shimbun.
The grand reception-dinner was attended by the Consul General of Japan in Karachi Mr. Odagiri Toshio, his wife, Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Association of Photojournalists, the PAPJ Azmat Ataka, Senior Member of PAPJ Adeel Khan and other members, members of Pakistan Japan Cultural Association, representatives of Pakistani media and personalities from different walks of life including women, students of engineering department of NED University and others. The people from the IT sector also attended the event.
Japanese photojournalist Sakuma Yasuo is on a visit to Pakistan to participate in the “Color of the World”, an ongoing international photo exhibition organized by the Pakistan Association of Photojournalists at the Japanese Consulate in Karachi, on the celebrating occasion of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan

He expressed the hope that friendly relations between Pakistan and Japan would further develop.
Consul General of Japan in Karachi Mr. Odagiri Toshio expressed gratitude to Pakistan Japan Business Forum Chairman Kalim Farooqui for hosting a grand reception-dinner. He hoped that such events will pave the way for mutual understanding and the friendly relations between Pakistan and Japan would be further strengthened.
Visiting Japanese photojournalist Sakuma Yasuo, thanked Mr. Kalim Farooqui and the Pakistan Association of Photojournalists for hosting the grand reception-dinner and expressed his happiness. “Organizing Japan’s renowned international exhibition at the Japanese Consulate is an important milestone and it will further expand the relations between photojournalists of Pakistan and Japan”. He said.
Mohammad Zubair, senior Pakistani Photo/Video journalist in Japan and representative of PAPJ in Japan, thanked all the guests attending the reception. He on behalf of PAPJ, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Kalim Farooqui, the Chairman of Pakistan-Japan Business
Forum, for organizing a wonderful reception-dinner for Mr. Sakuma Yasuo.
Mohammad Zubair also expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani media for their excellent coverage of Japan’s international photo exhibition organized by PAPJ. He said that Pakistani media is playing an important role in actively promoting of Pak-Japan friendship and hoped that this trend will continue.
Later, all the guests were offered delicious Pakistani cuisines. Consul General of Japan Odagiri Toshio and Mr. Sakuma Yasuo along with other Japanese guests showed keen interest in Pakistani foods.
