ISLAMABAD : October 15,2022:. Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) on Saturday summoned the United States (US) ambassador , Donald Baloom, to express its anger over president , Jeo Biden ‘s remarks wherein he had decaled Pakistan one of the most dangerous nations claiming its nuclear programme was not in cohesion. The US president had termed Pakistan as a very dangerous country while addressing a meeting of US congressional the other day in Washington
Mr Jeo Biden was hitting hard to the Russia and China in his address and all of sudden shifted to Pakistan and its nuclear programme .
Pakistan has taken the US president’s alarming remarks targeting its nuclear programme very seriously .
Since Pakistan has doubts about US intentions regarding its nuclear programme, Jeo Biden’s latest remarks that Pakistan’s nuclear programme was not in cohesion will seriously hurt Pakistan-US relations and deepen the gap of mistrust between the two states.
Pakistan took the US president ‘s remarks on its nuclear programme with a storm . Its FO summoned an emergent meeting to consider the statement of the US president which has decided to issue a demarche on US president’s remarks .
Foreign minister , Bilawal Bhutto , has rejected the US president’s statement in toto and called Pakistan’s nuclear programme extremely safe . He said Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state and US president’s remarks on it were extremely uncalled for and unwarranted .
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) supremo, Nawaz Sharif, tweeted on the issue and rejected US president’s remarks against Pakistan’s nuclear programme .
He said Pakistan’s nuclear programme is a very safe and a deterrant to ensure peace in the South Asia region. He said Pakistan is fully capable of protecting its sovergnity and integrity.
Pakistan Tehreek. e Insaf (PTI) , chief , Imran Khan, also gave sharp reaction to the US president ‘s anti- Pakistan nuclear programme remarks and inquired from him as a nuclear state has Pakistan ever shown aggression against any country.
He chided the Shahbaz government and asked if Jeo Biden’s statement against Pakistan was the outcome of resumption of relations between the US and Pakistan?.
