ISLAMABAD: Nov 6,2022: Pakistan will play the first semi final of T20 world cup 2022 against New Zealand on November 9 in Sydney .
The second semi final will be played between India and England in Adelaide on November 10.
Four top teams, two from each group, have booked berth for semi final of T20 world cup 22.
Pakistan had beaten Bangladesh in a must-win match played in Adelaide on November 6, 2022 to storm in the semi final.
The win against Bangladesh boost up Pakistan on the points table to qualify for semi final . Netherlands upset against South Africa had increased Pakistan’s chances to storm into semi final in the same morning.
After losing two initial contests of the tournament , it seemed almost impossible for Pakistan to qualify for semi final . Majority of cricket experts doubted Pakistan’s comeback this time. Pakistan as usual proved all such assessments wrong and won all three remaing matches of the tournament to stage a storm like comeback in the tournament.
Pakistan has a long history of losing the first matches of big tournaments and then stage thundering comeback . It had gone through the similar situation in 1992 world cup. In 1992 world cup, Pakistan not only staged a comeback after initial matches, but won 1992 world cup also.
This time Pakistan seem much committed to repeat the history of 1992 world cup and win the tournament like it did in 1992.
