ISLAMABAD: August 5, the day of oppression, turned into a big day of protest against Indian oppression in occupied valley. The entire Pakistani nation was up in arms to express solidarity with its Kashmiri brothern who are facing unprecedented brutal occupation of India for decades and continuing their peaceful struggle to get rid of Indian occupation. The government and opposition parties observed August 5 as a day of oppression against unending curfew imposed in occupied Kashmir by Indian forces The government started the day of oppression by organizing rallies and processions across Pakistan to give India a loud and clear message that it can not force Kashmiri people to live with New Delhi by using force or imposing endless curfew. President, Arif Alvi, led a big rally in Islamabad to express solidarity with Kashmiri people. The rally was attended by thousands of people hailing from different segments of society. Addressing the rally, Arif Alvi said the time for Indian to keep Kashmiri people with it by force was over. Prime Minister, Imran Khan flew this morning to Muzaffarabad, capital of Azad Kashmir, to address the joint session of legislative assembly and Kashmir Council. In his address, Imran Khan made it clear to the Indian counterpart that his policy of killings and rule in occupied Kashmir will never succeed. He said Modi government lacked vision to resolve the issue of Kashmir through dialogue. Imran Khan added that Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiri people for their right of self –determination. Imran Khan urged upon the United Nations to implement its resolution on Kashmir to resolve this outstanding issue. He said peace of this region was directly linked with peaceful settlement of Kashmir dispute. The opposition and other political parties, traders, labour unions and students also organized rallies in whole of Pakistan to express solidarity with their Kashmiri brothern. According to media reports, Kashmiri and Pakistani living in United Kingdom and other countries also held rallies to protest Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir.
