ISLAMABAD : Jan 25,2023: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Information minister, Fawad Hussain Chaudhry , has been arrested. His arrest was made today (Wednesday) at 5 o’clock in the morning from Lahore,
The PTI claimed that former information minister and party leader Fawad Chaudhry has been arrested by the police.
PTI leader Farrukh Habib in his tweet claimed that Fawad Chaudhry has been arrested by the police from his home in Lahore.
The PTI leader also shared 2 videos in another tweet showing the police vehicles used for the arrest of Fawad Chaudhry.
Later, PTI’s official Twitter account also confirmed the arrest of Fawad Chaudhry. PTI also. claimed that Fawad Chaudhry was arrested by unknown persons from outside the house. Meanwhile, Faisal Hussain, the younger brother of Fawad Chaudhry, also claimed in his tweet that his elder brother, former federal minister Fawad Hussain Chaudhary, has been arrested.
He said ” Fawad Hussain Chaudhary was illegally picked up from his house in Lahore by unknown persons in vehicles without number plates”. He further said that “The kidnappers had shown the warrant but not revealed their identity”.
However, the arrest of Fawad Chaudhry has not been officially confirmed so far. PTI leader Ali Zaidi also strongly condemned the arrest of a senior leader of the party and said that the government is bent on pushing this country towards chaos.
He said that “Pakistan has become a victim of lawlessness at the hands of these lawless legislators and corrupt law enforcement officers”. The PTI fears for Imran Khan’s arrest. “There are reports that the puppet government will try to arrest Chairman Imran Khan tonight,” the tweet said.
The tweet said ” PTI workers are reaching Zaman Park to protect their leader”.
Sources in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) told NEWSMAN that Fawad Chaudhary has been arrested on the complaint of ECP Secretary, Umar Hameed.
Fawad Chaudhary had used threatening language against ECP officials on Tuesday in Lahore.
