LAHORE : June 1,2923: Finally , Anti Corruption Establishment Punjab on Thursday nabbed Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) president , Chaudhary Pervez Elahi, from outside his residence in Lahore .
The Punjab police had made several raids on Chaudhary Pervez Elahi’s residence in Gulberg Lahore for his arrest , but all efforts in this connection remained futile as each time Chaudhary of Gujrat manage to slip away from his residence prior to the raids .
He,however , failed to flee during a surprise raid made on his residence in Lahore on Thursday.
Anti Corruption Establishment Punjab has arrested Chaudhary Pervez Elahi in connection with a graft case.
Mohammad Khan Bhatti , Chaudhary Pervez Elahi’s frontman whom he had elevated to the position of the secretary Punjab assembly against the rules , is already in Anti Corruption Establishment Punjab’s custody in a case of corruption.
Mohammad Khan Bhatti is facing corruption charges in facilitating some individuals in award of contracts in the Punjab in Chaudhary Pervez Elahi ‘s rule.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is also investigating Mohammad Khan Bhatti in various cases of alleged Corruption .
Chaudhary Moonis Elahi , son of Chaudhary Pervez Elahi , is also on the run on the similar allegations.
Chaudhary Moonis Elahi, who had been strong supporter of Imran Khan, had slipped out of Pakistan in a private jet owned by notorious property tycoon –Malik Riaz–soon after dismissle of Imran Khan’s government in April 2022.
A board of senior doctors had medical check up of Chaudhary Pervez Elahi after the arrest . The medical reports confirm Chaudhary Pervez is physically fit. It is expected that Chaudhary Pervez Elahi will be produced before the court on Friday for remand.
