ISLAMABAD : July 24,2023: In a yet another shocking news to already baffled nation, social and electronic media of Pakistan on Sunday claimed that Pakistan People Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) have reached to a clandestine understanding to appoint Fiance minister , Ishaq Dar , as a caretaker prime minister to held next general elections in the country.
Although some second tier PPP leaders including senator Farhatullah Babar and PPP spokesman , Faisal Karim Kundi, denied these media reports and claimed that PPP has not been taken into confidence by PMLN on Ishaq Dar:’s name and the reports of concenses between PML N and PPP were baseless, but PMLN hawks like Zubair Ahmad , Ahsin Iqbal and Khawaja Asif threw their weight behind Ishaq Dar saying there was no harm in appointing Ishaq Dar as caretaker prime minister .
For the last couple of weeks , many names for the post were being floated by the concerned quarters, but there was hardly any possibility of Ishaq Dar to get picked for the post of the caretaker prime minister .
Ishaq Dar is a close relative of Mian Nawaz Sharif and he is presently working as Finance minister cum deputy prime minister . He is persona non grata for many parties which are in the run for the next elections .
For example , Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) can not back this decision . The same is the case with Jamaat e Islami and many other political parties which do not like to see Nawaz Sharif ‘s man as a caretaker prime minister .
Shahbaz Sharif’s appointment as a prime minister has damaged Pakistan as his 14 months rule caused it loss beyond repair. In his rule, Pakistan lost every thing. Right from value of Pakistani currency to 300 % increase in household items made Pakistan a living hell for its people. The mafias fleeced Pakistani people ruthlessly in Shahbaz Sharif ‘s regime . His government has added billions of dollars to Pakistan’s foreign debt . In his tenure , the rupee devalued and US dollar -Rupee parity jumped from Rs 157 in 2022 to Rs 290 in 2023. Name anything its prices doubled in just ,14 months rule of Shahbaz Sharif .
In fact , there is no government in place in Pakistan since ouster of Imran Khan from power in April 2022. But since , Mr Dar is Darling of Pindiwalas who have doubled their grip on the decision -making how some party can dare to oppose his elevation to the office of the caretaker for long. If Mr Dar is a pick of Pindiwalas as is being claimed by the social and electronic media , nothing can stop him from becoming a caretaker prime minister . Pindiwalas can do what ever they like, but before adapting Mr Dar for next job, Pindiwalas must understand that no one will accept their Darling as an independent caretaker and the same will be the case if after all elections are held in supervision of such a characterless individual. Holding of the elections under the supervision of a man like Mr Dar will be just wastage of the public money and an attempt to throw Pakistan into even more serious crisis.
