ISLAMABAD: A local court of the District and Session judge of Farid Baloch in Islamabad on Monday heard the case of the torture of the wife of a Civil judge of Islamabad. The court heard the arguments of both parties and ordered arrest of the wife of a civil judge in the maid torture case.
The police arrested the accused after the court order from outside of the courtroom. According to the local police the accused has been shifted to lady police station and she will be presented before the magistrate for physical remand.
Earlier, the counsel for the accused argued before the court that the victim was not tortured by her client –the wife of the Civil Judge of Islamabad and it has also been confirmed in the report of the police. The counsel for the accused further argued before the court that the victim was handover to her father in good health and later she was physically tortured by her father to blackmail her respectable client who is also a wife of an honourable judge.
The accused was also present in the court during the hearing.
The counsel for the victim strongly opposed the arguments of the counsel for the accused and pleaded before the court that the victim’s age was between 13 to 14 years and the accused and her spouse who is also a judge must had the knowledge that hiring a teenage as a housemaid is a crime. He further argued that the claims made by his opponent counsel were totally illogical and make no sense and probably a concocted story has been narrated before the honourable court to make an attempt to prove the accused innocent. The counsel for the victim added that in our society women go scot- free after committing a crime and this attitude can prompt the criminals to use women for the criminal activities and then get relief for them from the court on the gender basis.
While presenting arguments in the case, prosecutor, Waqas Ahmad Hural, disagreed to the counsel for the victim on the point that the women in our society get special treatment from the courts and argued before the court that the women also get punishment provided a strong evidence of their involvement in any crime is proved by the counsel of the aggrieved party. He told the court that the victim had 14 serious injuries on her body and according to the medical reports she was tortured brutally.
