Mianwali : Oct 1 : The Mianwali police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officials gallantly responded to the terrorists who attacked Kundal patrolling post here on Saturday night.
The Mianwali police and CTD officials killed two terrorists and made others run after fierce fighting that lasted for hours.
According to the details , a group of 12 terrorists had attacked Kundal patrolling check post in Mianwali at night on Saturday . The alert police posted there immediately responded to the terrorists attack and killed two of them in the fighting . Other terrorists fled from the scene. Later , killed terrorists were identified as Nawaz and Abdul Wahab .
The CTD reports confirmed that the group of terrorists which attacked Kundal patrolling check post belonged to Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Tipu group.
TTP terrorists also attacked a check post in Lakki Marwat in Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK). Here too the police confronted with the terrorists and foiled their attack. The terrorists ran away from Lakki Marwat to their hideout after facing resistance from the local police .
The terrorists have been attacking on Pakistan from Afghanistan on almost daily basis. Just 24 hours ago , the terrorists had attacked a Eid Milad procession in Mastung which claimed lives of more than 50 innocent civilians.
On the same day, terrorists attacked Hangu where the terrorists targeted a mosque during Juma prayer.
Inspector general police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar visited Kundal patrolling check post after the terrorists attack.
Additional IG Special Branch Zulfiqar Hameed, Additional IG CTD , Waseem Sial , Additional IG BHP, Rao Abdul Karim , DIG PHP , Athar Waheed , DIG IT Younis , DPO Mianwali and other senior police official accompanied IGP for the visit.
IGP Punjab , Dr Usman Anwar had a meeting with the policemen who foiled the terrorists attack on Kundal patrolling check post and awarded them with appreciation letters and cash amounting to Rs 3 million.
On the occasion , IGP Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said the Punjab police were in a high spirit and they will offer every sacrifice to defend the country against the terrorism.
