These pictures were taken 8.20 am on 7th October, 2023 at Mingora city of Swat once a princely state, before its merger in the Islamic Republic Of Pakistan, in 1969, then their was little realisation that the change was going to be for the worst than the best.
Indeed, it was not a pleasant sight to see these little eaglets of the local Eagle School hanging out dangerously out of their school van that could any time result into a serious mishap risking these precious lives of the future Eagles as envisioned by Allama Iqbal. I wonder what he might be thinking of the nation that Iqbal dreamt of and their disorderly lives today, in his grave at Lahore.
In the second frame one sees presumably a Non Customs Paid Vehicle that instead of the local police station registered identification display name of a Doctor. In all honestly, it is confusing to blame the owner of the this particular vehicle or the local Chief Cop for these free for all traffic violations that shows their professional vigilance, acumen and foresight that policing is not about investigating a crime but protecting the lives and property of the citizens.
Though, I never know the local Police hierarchy but hear the local DPO to be quiet dashing like the old Salman Khan of the bollyhood fame once was in his own produced blockbuster called ‘Dabang’, yet he needs to heed these small details that the local population would appreciate more than other fame that he earned locally for himself such as that he acts both as a cop and the judge to dispense justice to the locals .
Before ending the piece, I own my personal humble appreciation to the incumbent Deputy Commissioner Swat whom I never know personally except, yet he remains so sensitive and responsive professionally winning my admiration for him . It was only late last night that a little observation of the plants was brought in his notice planted in front of the outer boundary wall of Circuit House Swat, where all important government offices are located.
These grown up plants were dieing due to lack of regular watering. Hardly a few minutes had passed that a passerby shared a picture of the plants being water is what makes local people believe that only if our leaders become selfless, responsive and responsible can make the difference instead of the nation being assured through long speeches of tall claims and empty promises as the old English would say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating means not that just the flowery words matter, it is always the action that speak for itself.
