Islamabad : Jan 21 : As the political parties go ahead for general elections 2024, former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) chief , Shahbaz Sharif , has said any attempt to delay February 8 elections will be resisted .
In the first it seems that Shahbaz Sharif has inadvertently shadowed doubts on holding of general elections 2024 when the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is confirming and reconfirming scheduled general elections on February 8. Shahbaz Sharif ‘s party is also actively engaged in having campaign for upcoming elections and one fails to understand as to what prompted Shahbaz Sharif to issue a statement which casts doubts on February 8 elections . Obviously , there is no reason of casting doubts on general elections 2024. ECP is on the record saying that its done all arrangements to hold intime general elections . Pakistan ‘e top court is all out to ensure that February 8 elections are held without any delay.
In the given situation , Shahbaz Sharif ‘s Sunday’s statement that holding elections in time is essential for Pakistan and PMLN will resist any attempt ,if made, to delay these elections. Shahbaz Sharif ‘s statement may have two types of consumption . One , he might have issued the statement in question just for sake of a statement. Second , PMLN might be having any reasons to issue such.a disturbing statement when Pakistan is aggressively heading to apparently in time general elections.
