Islamabad : August 13,2024 : On the eve of independence day , the government has slashed oil prices a couple of days in advance to its schedule. The oil prices review was due on August 15 , but to make independence day on August 14 a source of more solace and jubilation , the government cut down oil prices on August 13. According to the official handout , the petrol prices have been slashed by Rs 8.47 and it lowered its rates from Rs 269.43 to Rs 260.91. likewise , High Speed Diesel (HSD) rates have been reduced by Rs 6.70 . With this decrease , HSD rates reduced from Rs 272.77 to Rs 266.07 per litre. The new oil prices come into effective forthwith.
