Google Implements Real-Time Chat in Search Engine

You might be communicating with Google Search soon.

California: Google is increasing its AI efforts to keep its search engine dominance as OpenAI enters the market with ChatGPT Search.

The most recent action? A voice-to-search function that is conversational and real-time within Google Search

A video of a new feature that Google is testing out—allowing users to communicate with Google Search within the Google mobile app—was uploaded by Google app tipster @AssembleDebug on X.

How to use the new AI voice-to-search feature?

You will be able to speak a question or search query into your device, and Google will respond with search results. Afterwards, you can pose follow-up queries, and Google Search will instantly adapt to deliver pertinent search results for those queries too.

Google already has voice-to-search capabilities, but they were only able to process a single question at a time. The user had to resume the process by tapping the microphone button to ask another inquiry.

This upgrade will make voice-to-search conversational and contextual. A user can ask follow-up questions without requiring any more manual input after the procedure has begun.

Google will respond to those searches with AI-powered summaries and search links in exchange.

It is unclear if the capability will be available to the general public in the Google app. Google will probably offer similar tools to keep up with OpenAI and other AI startups as they move toward voice-to-text capabilities, so anticipate this one, or some variant, soon.
