THATHA: LIFT Islamabad has appointed as ambassador of peace to acknowlege her efforts against injust and cruel system in Pakistan.
Ume Rubab was appointed ambassador of peace by LIFT in a simple, but impressive ceremony held in Islamabad.
The ceremony was widely attended by civil society representatives , lawyers community, retired civil servants and students.
The representatives of different segments of the society acknowleged valour of ‘Daughter of Sindh’ for fighting against those who killed innocent people in a bid to establish system based on crulity and injustic. They expressed full support to Ume Rubab who is fighting to bring killers of her father, grandfather and uncle to the court and get justice.
Since the killers of Ume Rubab’s family elders are powerful individuals, they are creating problems for her by blocking her efforts made to get justice from the court of law.
Addressing the ceremony Ume Rubab said she has stood against powerful killers of her family elders and will keep her struggle going unless get justice from the court of law. Ume Rubab added she wants to become a symbol of courage for under- privilged to help them muster courage to fight for justice from the court of law.
