Baku, (Newsman): On the eve of COP 29, held in Baku, Federal Minister for Communications, Privatisation, and Board of Investment, Abdul Aleem Khan, engaged in productive discussions with senior officials from Turkiye and Azerbaijan to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new avenues for cooperation.
In a meeting with Turkish Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, Minister Khan emphasized the long-standing friendship between Turkiye and Pakistan, highlighting that the ties between the two nations, built over decades, would continue to grow stronger.
He expressed Pakistan’s openness to Turkish investments in various sectors, particularly in communications, and invited Turkite’s participation in ongoing infrastructure projects in Pakistan.
During his visit to Baku, Abdul Aleem Khan also held a separate meeting with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, where both parties lauded the successful hosting of COP 29 in Baku.
The two ministers agreed to further enhance cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, with Minister Khan noting that the large Pakistani community in Azerbaijan contributes significantly to education, employment, and tourism.
He also discussed the potential for increasing government-to-government (G2G) collaborations between the two countries across various sectors.
Reflecting on his time in Baku, Minister Khan described it as both pleasant and constructive, highlighting the opportunity to engage with ministers from multiple countries on key global issues.

He also met with Azerbaijani Energy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov to discuss critical investment and communication sector projects between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
The Transport Ministers of Turkiye and Azerbaijan expressed their appreciation for Pakistan’s active participation in the COP 29 forum and assured full cooperation in advancing bilateral relations.

Aleem Khan, who led the Pakistani delegation, participated in key sessions on the Middle Corridor and beyond, and represented Pakistan at the Inter-Ministerial Round Table Conference.
The meetings underscored Pakistan’s commitment to expanding its international partnerships, particularly in transport, digital development, and infrastructure, as the country seeks to enhance its position on the global stage.
