Islamabad : District administration of Islamabad has confirmed killing of 15 persons in suicide attack that occured in the downtown of federal capital Islamabad on Friday.
In a statement issued by the Deputy Commissioner , Islamabad office , suicide bomber targeted Shia Muslims during Jumma prayer in Trambery , rural area of the Federal cabinet, during Jumma prayer .
According to the DC office statement , many “Namazis” alsoinjured in the suicide bombing. The statement added that injured and dead bodies of the suicide attack victims have been shifted to different hospitals in Islamabad including PIMS, Poly Clinic and CDA Hospital.
The statement said DC Islamabad has directed to Assistant Commissioners in the Federal capital to look after injured for immediate medical cares in the hospital.
Independent sources from the incident place said death toll has increased to 30 and could increase further.
Emergency has been declared in all hospitals in Islamabad.
An eye witnessed told NEWSMAN that at least 25 to 30 dead bodies have been shifted to various hospitals in Islamabad.
The suicide bomber targeted worshippers (Shia Muslims) when they were offering Jumma prayer.
Local media reported after the bombing that initial reports suggested that Indian – sponsored Khawarji carried out suicide bombing in Islamabad ‘s rural area during Jumma prayer on Friday.
Islamabad Capital Territory Police Spokesperson , Tarqi Jawad , said lt was too early to a certain nature of the blast . However , he added, the signs indicated that it was a suicide bombing.
Meanwhile , condemnations have been pouring on the incident.
President , Asif Ali Zardari , condemned the attack on Immambargah during Jumma prayer. He said those responsible will be brought to the Justice.
Prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , in his condemnation statement said suicide bombing at Immambargah during Jumma prayer is a heinous crime and its all characters will be brought to the Justice.
The prime minister has ordered inquiry into the attack. He also directed to Health minister , Mustafa Kamal , to supervise medical care being given to the injured.
